Posting every day for #blogjune means occasionally I’m going to need to resort to a bit of self-indulgence. This is one of those occasions, so I’ll keep it short.

In March 2014, when I first heard the news Kate Bush was performing live in London, my immediate thought was ‘I have to go’. As of tonight, all the flights and accommodation are finally booked and I’m flying to London to see Kate Bush live at the Hammersmith Odeon two nights in a row (2 and 3 September 2014).

But it’s turned into much more than a Kate pilgrimage. My oldest friend (also a massive Kate fan) and I are spending 8 nights in a flat in the East of London, and – apart from two evenings in Hammersmith – will be catching up with friends and heading to galleries, museums and pubs throughout the city. Then we fly to Rome for a few days; then to Florence, and finally Venice where (on my request) we’re going to Verdi’s Il Trovatore at Teatro La Fenice.

It’s going to be an amazing trip, filled with art, music, food and drink. I can’t wait.
